SEMINARY
2009
The Holy Cross Seminary is situated near Goulburn NSW. It was established in 1988 to train priests and religious brothers for the Society of St. Pius X. This fraternity is distinctive as it didn’t modernise with the rest of the Catholic Church after the Second Vatican Council of the mid 1960s.
The end of 2021 saw the closure of the seminary. Most of the seminarians came from Oceania, Asia and Africa and due the border closures with the COVID pandemic the number of seminarians had reduced dramatically so the remainder were moved to other seminaries . It now operates only as a priory.
